Volunteer Spotlight – Nancy Luse

It is the dedication of outstanding volunteers that keep the Food Bank running efficiently.  One such volunteer is Nancy Luse. Nancy has been with the Food Bank since opening day in January of 2012. She came to serve others in the community by volunteering her time after becoming an “empty nester” and no longer needing to be a stay at home mom of two grown  daughters and a very busy full-time housing developer husband. After working through all the avenues of the Food Bank, which include sorting, bagging, front-end management and client distribution, Nancy became the Operations Manager. Volunteer Appreciation celebrations, Chamber of Commerce Nights, Thanksgiving Box Dinners, and About Kidz First Day are some of the special events she coordinates.  She also organizes the many volunteers, does product inventory and purchases supplies. Nancy enjoys the time she spends with the Food Bank volunteers and clients making helpful community connections, building trusted friendships and listening to those who need a little comfort. With a heart to serve like Nancy”s, the Food Bank”s future is in good hands.
