Orangevale Food Bank recently had the pleasure of hosting 26 Intel employees for a volunteer work day. Their smiling faces and genuine excitement to give back made the time go by fast, and the work that was accomplished was amazing! In 3 hours time, this group was able to tackle work that our volunteers have been trying to get to for months. Intel prepared our garden beds for planting. Some distributed tree mulch around the perimeter of our lot to keep the weeds down, while others washed the food bank truck. We should add that after so many food trips to local grocers, this was not a small task. They cleaned the food bank top to bottom. Intel organized and wiped down freezers, shelves, floors, bathrooms, and food distribution wagons. We all took a quick barbecue break to fuel up and talk about all of the accomplishments, and then this amazing group started right back to work, stocking shelves. This big group of coworkers had such a good time working to help others. Everyone had a great attitude and worked so hard to build up this community food bank. It was inspiring to see! We appreciate their hearts for service, their teamwork, and their incredible work ethic. Thank you Intel!
