Gleaning Fresh Food to Feed Hungry Families!
We are making every effort to provide fresh, healthy food options for the families we serve. One of the ways we do that is through donations from people in the community who grow their own fruits and vegetables. We are also putting together teams of volunteers to glean these harvests. There is an abundance of citrus in the winter and summer gardens usually grow more zucchini squash than one knows what to do with. Either pick the fruit yourself and bring it by the food bank, or give us a call and we will do our best to put together a team to come do the picking for you.
Interested in Volunteering?
We will be posting harvest opportunities here and on our Facebook page as trees are available to harvest. Citrus season is in the winter and usually when we do most of the local fruit picking.
